Roll Call · Four Cats

Four cats answer the roll on this retro cat art print: HERE. PRESENT, BARELY. LATE, AGAIN. ABSENT, EMOTIONALLY. It's typographic wall art about the one standard most of us actually meet: turning up, in whatever state we're in. Nobody's smiling. Everyone's accounted for. That's attendance.

Black, oxblood, burnt orange and ochre heads crowd in from the edges of a warm cream ground, cut-paper style, with a paper-fibre look and whiskers like pen strokes. It looks like a mid-century children's book cover that grew up and got opinions. Each cat answers in its own ink. Hang it in the living room, over the desk in a home office, or as the loud one on a gallery wall. It gets a laugh first and a slow nod of recognition second.
